Keeping our shipping green! - The Sustainable Watch Company

Keeping our shipping green!

We know that sending parcels to our wonderful customers across the globe has an effect on the environment.

We care about the planet at The Sustainable Watch Company, and that is why we do something about that. Our chosen delivery partner Mule helps us offset the carbon of every package we ship. No matter where you are in the world, if we ship to you, the shipment remains carbon neutral.

An aeroplane flies across a blue ocean filled with cargo ships, showing the scale that shipping globally around the world has, communicating the undeniable environmental impact.

The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of annual global emissions, more than all international flights and maritime shipping combined, and transported goods make up 7% of total global emissions. This is not good enough. Sea levels are rising at the fastest rate in 3,000 years, average wildlife populations have dropped by 60% in over 40 years, and it is time to take responsibility for this. Whilst we don't have the power of a government or a large corporation, we believe businesses should do more than just trying to turn a profit.

On our behalf, Mule contribute to schemes accredited by the Gold Standard, the highest verification of carbon offsetting. This includes projects such as providing fuel efficient stoves for women in Sudan and providing borehole renovation for clean water in Uganda so contaminated water doesn't need to be boiled before drinking.

We understand that carbon off-setting is not the answer to climate change, but we have the ability to neutralise our impact by choosing to carbon offset our shipping. It is important to us that we take every action we can to counter climate change and we are excited for you to join us on this journey!
